🦮✨ Always Evolving – The Power of Growth at SuperheldenHulphond
At SuperheldenHulphond, nothing ever stands still.
From new materials to craftsmanship and innovation — everything grows with real-life experience.
Honest, small-scale, and made with love.
🦮 Always evolving – the power of growth at SuperheldenHulphond
Nothing at SuperheldenHulphond ever truly stops moving. Every product in the webshop is carefully tested, practically designed, and meets our own — often quite high — standards. That means it’s functional, reliable, and genuinely useful for assistance-dog teams like ours.
But nothing is ever completely finished — because for us, everything keeps evolving.
We continuously improve, refine, and adapt where needed. Sometimes because something can be made prettier or more practical, sometimes because new materials become available, and sometimes simply because experience in daily life teaches us something new.
What seems like the perfect solution today, might already be better tomorrow.
🔧 Continuous improvement is part of the process
If there’s one thing that defines SuperheldenHulphond, it’s our constant search for the best balance between quality, affordability, and practicality.
We don’t design our products from a factory, but from real life — literally from daily life with an assistance dog.
Every stitch, closure, and material choice has a reason.
And when we discover that something can be smarter, more durable, or more comfortable, we adjust it.
It’s that simple.
Sometimes this results in an improved version of an existing product.
Sometimes it becomes an entirely new one — for instance, because there’s too much price difference between two models, or because one design works better for heavy use while another suits daily convenience.
And sometimes we simply replace the old version — because we know the new one is genuinely better.
🧩 Functional and field-tested, but never static
Everything in the webshop is functional and tested — meeting not only our own practical needs as an assistance-dog team, but also those of our trusted test teams.
Each product is extensively tried, reviewed, and refined through real-world use.
Other handlers share honest feedback about comfort, fit, and durability — what works brilliantly for one team might reveal something to improve for another.
That collaboration is invaluable.
It helps create products that truly fit the everyday life of assistance-dog teams.
Some updates are simply refinements — they make something neater or handier without changing the quality of what came before.
Those earlier versions were solid, safe, and reliable — they met our standards at the time.
But sometimes we later realise: “Hmm, this could actually be even better.”
Not because the old version was bad, but because it no longer matches the level we want to deliver now.
In those cases, we don’t wait for complaints or questions.
We just send out an improved version — free of charge, without announcement, without fuss.
Simply because we believe people deserve the best price-to-quality ratio we can offer.
That’s not an obligation. It’s a principle.
🌱 Building with meaning
SuperheldenHulphond is still growing.
In the coming years, our focus is on building trust, reputation, and connection — not on profit.
Because let’s be honest: making a profit isn’t the goal right now.
This webshop was born from passion, necessity, and purpose.
It’s my daily structure — something that clears my head, keeps me grounded, and literally keeps me going.
It brings rhythm, fulfilment, and meaning to my days — and that’s priceless.
That also means I’d rather break even, or even take a small loss, than compromise on quality or customer satisfaction.
What truly matters are the people who return because they’re happy — teams who use their products with joy and feel heard.
And the best compliment?
Customers who come back for the fifth or sixth time. That says it all.
⚖️ Sustainable choices for the long term
There’s a reason SuperheldenHulphond (for now) doesn’t have a Chamber of Commerce registration and isn’t classed as a traditional business.
This project officially operates under the UWV as a crowdfunding-based initiative, with full transparency towards the Dutch Tax Office.
It’s a deliberate choice — to make sure this project remains sustainable both physically and practically.
I don’t have a big team, a warehouse, or investors.
What I do have is a solid system — and, admittedly, a house that’s quite full of materials, prototypes, and half-finished ideas (let’s leave it at that 😉).
Products are made per order — partly pre-prepared, partly finished on demand.
Some components are semi-manufactured; others are completely handmade.
Everything is done with care for quality, consistency, and long-term manageability.
Because I live in a body that doesn’t always cooperate, and a mind that has its limits — and that’s exactly why it’s so important that this project can still exist five years from now.
Meanwhile, I make sure everything is legally sound.
The SuperheldenHulphond trademark is officially pending and — if all goes well — will soon be fully registered.
No shortcuts, no “playing shop”, but a serious brand with a clear mission.
✂️ Material development in practice
Sometimes improvement lies not in the design, but in the material itself.
A good example are our keychains featuring the line-art of a handler and dog.
The design stayed the same, but we switched materials — simply because it worked better.
The colours came out deeper and more vivid, and we discovered that the old fabric tended to bleed over time.
We could fix that by adding multiple protective layers — up to six per piece — but it wasn’t practical.
It worked, but it wasn’t sustainable for a small-scale maker like us.
Switching to the new material made the process more efficient and the product more durable — without losing its meaning or look.
And honestly? Those older materials will come in handy again one day.
We’ve already added a laser engraver to our workshop, and once that’s fully integrated, we’ll use it for new product lines.
That’s how we continue to grow — in design, in materials, and in production — step by step, in our own way.
🧪 More than one craft
And yes — that goes far beyond textiles or electronics.
I also make creams, fill capsules, and develop natural powders and supplements — all within my field of expertise.
I’m trained as a pharmacy assistant with medical background knowledge and am now studying to become an orthomolecular animal therapist.
Not to start a clinic, but to deepen my understanding — and to apply that knowledge within SuperheldenHulphond.
Everything I create falls under self-care and supplements — no medication, no medical claims, but safe, transparent, and well-founded products.
I don’t share all my diplomas publicly, but I do show the ones that matter for customer trust — like my pharmacy assistant certificate.
It helps people understand that products like PawDream or other self-care items are developed with genuine knowledge and responsibility.
All products are made in small batches, with attention to detail and consistency.
I’m not a factory — and I don’t want to be.
If something’s sold out, it’s simply sold out.
Then we make a new small batch, or produce to order.
That’s how we keep production sustainable, personal, and true to our values.
I’m highly gifted, sleep little, and sitting still isn’t my strength.
I work, learn, design, and create — because my mind needs it.
The pace is fast, but the motivation is even faster.
👩👦 Learning and building together
What many people don’t know is that SuperheldenHulphond isn’t just my project — it’s also a learning journey for my son.
He has a fascination for creativity, but in a very different form.
While I love working with my hands — fabric, stitching, printing, and design —
he’s all about technology, electronics, and programming.
When I create a new concept or technical plan, he often checks my logic.
I’ll ask: “Did I design this right? Will this work the way I mean it to?”
And he’ll tell me honestly — yes, no, or “I’d tweak it slightly.”
Sometimes he even draws the wiring diagram, making sure I connect the positives and negatives correctly.
If something on the website breaks or a complex tech issue pops up, he’s my go-to helper.
It’s not a job — more like a learning project.
Sometimes he skips a household chore in exchange for helping with something truly useful.
No dishes, but a wiring plan. No vacuuming, but a bit of code.
And the best part? He genuinely enjoys it.
And if he doesn’t feel like it — he simply doesn’t do it.
He already has a strong vision for his future and is constantly learning, building, and coding — even at twelve.
Like me, he has an autistic hyperfocus — and that drive, that intensity, that creative energy deserves space.
We support him in that, because at its core, SuperheldenHulphond stands for the same thing:
focusing on what someone can do and turning it into something beautiful.
So we both contribute in our own way — each through our own form of creativity and focus.
SuperheldenHulphond isn’t just a webshop.
It’s a space where knowledge, passion, perseverance, and love come together —
where human and dog, mother and child, craft and care all connect.
💛 Everything is made with care.
💪 Everything keeps evolving.
🐾 And nothing stands still — except, perhaps, a content assistance dog taking a well-deserved rest.
